Job Summary

The quality of school education available to students from low-income communities across India is abysmal. Their chances of attending college, or building a career are significantly lower than their high-income peers, condemning them to a life without voice or choice. iTeach was born in 2015 to challenge this status quo and create a level playing field for ALL children.

Key Responsibilities

A teacher at iTeach Schools wears multiple hats to ensure an excellent education for their students. The three different parts of the role are:

Teaching your subject (60% time)

• Teach one or two subjects of your expertise to your class
• Conduct regular tests and assessments to monitor learning and give feedback to students
• Build a positive and strong school culture with a focus on learning and joy
• Collaborate with parents of the students through regular meetings to ensure their active involvement

Mentoring students (20% time)

• Mentor nearly 15-20 students throughout the year
• Develop ways to ensure that these students have strong study habits, high attendance, and the drive to excel - share these plans with all teachers across the ecosystem

Help with school projects (20% time)

• Collaborate with Senior Teachers to implement school projects such as Hobby Clubs, Career Awareness, Annual Day, Sports Day, etc
• Use these opportunities to strengthen your leadership skills and mentor new teachers

Prerequisites

• Required: Bachelors Degree with strong academic and holistic performance.
• Preferred: Art Teacher Diploma(ATD) / Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) / GD Arts.
• Preferred: Teaching experience in a school for 1-2 years.
