Presales Design Manager

Role & responsibilities

Purpose of the Role

To provide techno-commercial pre-sales support to the Data Centre business by understanding customer requirements, designing optimized IT infrastructure solutions, preparing technical drawings and cost estimates, and developing project proposals that support successful business conversion.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with customers alongside the Sales team to understand requirements and develop optimized, commercially viable Data Centre infrastructure solutions.
• Design and estimate IT infrastructure solutions based on customer requirements, building space, technical specifications and project scope.
• Prepare AutoCAD 2D/3D layout drawings, HVAC layouts and schematic diagrams, MEP drawings, and civil layouts.
• Interpret architectural drawings and IO summary drawings to develop suitable infrastructure layouts.
• Coordinate with Civil & Interiors, Electrical, IBMS, Project Design, Project Execution and other teams to ensure design compatibility.
• Prepare technical proposals, tender specifications, project solution documents, BOQs, cost estimates and business cases.
• Analyse competitor solutions and technically demonstrate the advantages of Rittal solutions.
• Understand Data Centre infrastructure components, product specifications and application requirements.
• Conduct partner training on Rittal solutions and provide technical support to internal and external sales teams.
• Support new vendor development for Data Centre services.
• Work closely with Sales, Project Management and Design teams to ensure accurate technical inputs and solution feasibility.
• Ensure design accuracy and minimize customer complaints arising from design errors.

Qualification

• BE / B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2D/3D and MEP design.
• Working knowledge of 3D modelling tools such as Autodesk Inventor is preferred.
• CDCP (Certified Data Centre Professional) or ATD (Accredited Tier Designer) certification will be an advantage.
