PowerShell Automation Developer Role

Role Purpose

The PowerShell Automation Developer will be responsible for leading and developing infrastructure automation initiatives across strategic customer accounts. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, enhance client engagement, reduce manual effort, and deliver measurable business value through automation and process optimization.

Job Summary

Develop, maintain, and enhance automation solutions using PowerShell across Azure, Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, and Data Center environments. The role requires expertise in automation development, REST API integrations, infrastructure automation, troubleshooting, DevOps practices, and operational process improvement. The candidate will work closely with customer teams and internal stakeholders to drive automation maturity and deliver scalable automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced PowerShell scripts, modules, and reusable automation frameworks.
• Build automation solutions for Azure, Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, and infrastructure platforms.
• Lead automation roadmaps and implementation strategies across multiple customer accounts.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and identify automation opportunities.
• Drive automation maturity by transforming manual processes into automated workflows.
• Develop and maintain scalable dashboards and monitoring solutions for automation operations.
• Integrate automation solutions with REST APIs, Microsoft Graph, Azure Services, VMware, and ServiceNow.
• Implement PowerShell concepts including Functions, Modules, Loops, Arrays, Hash Tables, Objects, and Conditional Logic.
• Develop robust exception handling using Try/Catch/Finally mechanisms.
• Build logging, auditing, troubleshooting, and debugging capabilities into automation solutions.
• Utilize PowerShell Remoting, Runspaces, and Parallel Processing for enterprise-scale automation.
• Maintain source code using Git and Azure DevOps repositories.
• Support CI/CD practices for automation deployment and lifecycle management.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production automation issues and complex operational escalations.
• Prepare technical documentation, automation runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with customer teams, delivery teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
• Review emerging automation technologies and recommend improvements to automation capabilities.
• Ensure security, access controls, and compliance requirements are implemented for automation solutions.
