Job Description
Power Platform & Dataverse Developer / Administrator Digital Practice
Position Summary
The Power Platform & Dataverse Developer / Administrator is responsible for designing, building, administering, and supporting business solutions on Microsoft Power Platform and Dataverse for a large, high-volume customer service and contact center environment. The role owns Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, and Power BI solutions end to end, and keeps the Dataverse platform secure, healthy, well-governed, and cost-efficient.
The role works closely with Dynamics 365 Customer Service, Azure integration, data, and telephony teams. Working knowledge of these adjacent areas is expected so the engineer can collaborate effectively, troubleshoot across boundaries, and support end-to-end customer interactions; deep specialist ownership of telephony and data platforms sits with the respective teams.
Key Responsibilities
Power Platform Development
- Design, build, and maintain Canvas and Model-driven Power Apps, including custom pages, forms, views, and business rules.
- Develop and support Power Automate cloud flows for business processes, approvals, notifications, and system integrations, with proper error handling and retry patterns.
- Build and maintain Copilot Studio agents, topics, and actions, including support for IVR and self-service experiences in collaboration with the contact center team.
- Build API-based integrations using custom connectors, Dataverse Web API, and Azure Logic Apps / Function Apps where required.
- Extend the platform using Power Fx, JavaScript client scripting, plug-ins (C#), and PCF components where low-code is not sufficient.
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports and datasets built on Dataverse data.
Dataverse Administration
- Design and administer Dataverse data models: tables, relationships, columns, choices, and alternate keys.
- Manage security roles, business units, teams, field-level security, and user access in line with least-privilege principles.
- Configure and maintain environments, environment variables, connection references, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies.
- Support data quality, bulk data operations, duplicate detection, and auditing.
- Support operational troubleshooting, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis for platform and solution issues.
Platform Governance, Monitoring & Cost
- Monitor Power Platform environment health, Dataverse storage and capacity consumption, API limits, and Copilot Credits usage.
- Track licensing, permissions, and platform-related costs; recommend optimizations.
- Use the Power Platform Admin Center, CoE Starter Kit, and Application Insights for monitoring and actionable diagnostics.
- Follow change management processes and coordinate changes across Dev, Test, UAT, and Production environments.
Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
- Manage managed / unmanaged solutions, solution layering, and versioning.
- Implement and maintain deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or Power Platform Pipelines.
- Ensure source control, code reviews, and Solution Checker compliance for all deliverables.
Collaboration & Adjacent Areas (Working Knowledge)
- Support Dynamics 365 Customer Service configuration on Dataverse, such as queues, routing rules, workstreams, and agent experiences, with the Dynamics / contact center team.
- Coordinate with Azure, telephony, and vendor teams on IVR-to-agent handoff, caller context passing, and integration issues.
- Support Microsoft Fabric Link for Dataverse and downstream reporting needs in partnership with the data team.
- Document solution architecture, integration contracts, runbooks, deployment procedures, and recovery steps.
- Communicate clearly with business users, technical teams, and stakeholders; translate requirements into technical designs.
