Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced BI Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Sigma Computing and Power BI to support BI migration, semantic model development, and dashboard modernization initiatives. The role requires approximately 60% expertise in Sigma Computing and 40% in Power BI.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for reverse-engineering existing Power BI datasets, semantic models, and DAX measures, and migrating the underlying business logic and reporting capabilities to Sigma Computing. The candidate should have strong data modeling, dashboard development, data validation, and performance optimization skills to deliver accurate, scalable, and interactive analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Semantic Model Migration and Architecture

Reverse-engineer existing Power BI datasets, semantic models, DAX measures, relationships, and business rules.

Translate and rebuild Power BI data models, calculations, and reporting logic within Sigma Computing.

Design and develop scalable data models using Sigma Workbooks, Datasets, and Data Models.

Leverage cloud data warehouse capabilities to improve data processing and reporting performance.

Dashboard and Report Development

Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Sigma Computing and Power BI.

Convert complex business requirements into meaningful metrics, visualizations, and actionable insights.

Ensure consistency in business logic, calculations, and reporting outputs across both platforms.

Develop user-friendly dashboards that support business decision-making and timely reporting.

Data Validation and Performance Optimization

Validate migrated Sigma dashboards against existing Power BI reports to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

Identify and resolve discrepancies in calculations, datasets, and report outputs.

Optimize data models and dashboards to support scalable and responsive reporting.

Troubleshoot data quality, calculation, and performance-related issues.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to gather and clarify reporting requirements.

Document data models, calculation logic, migration processes, and validation results.

Follow established BI development standards and best practices.

Must-Have Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Sigma Computing and Power BI, following the required 60% Sigma and 40% Power BI skill split.

Practical experience with Power BI-to-Sigma migration, including datasets, semantic models, and DAX measures.

Proficiency in Sigma Computing Workbooks, Datasets, and Data Models.

Strong knowledge of Power BI data modeling, DAX calculations, relationships, and report development.

Experience designing and developing interactive dashboards and business reports.

Ability to translate business requirements into data models, metrics, and visualizations.

Experience with data validation, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

Experience with cloud data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or Amazon Redshift.

Strong SQL skills for data extraction, analysis, transformation, and validation.

Experience with BI modernization, semantic layer migration, and reporting platform transformation.

Understanding of cloud-based analytics architecture and scalable data processing.

Experience standardizing business metrics and reporting logic across BI platforms.

Familiarity with near-real-time reporting requirements and dashboard performance tuning.

Required Experience

Relevant professional experience in Business Intelligence, BI Development, Data Analytics, or Reporting.

Demonstrated hands-on experience with both Sigma Computing and Power BI.

Practical exposure to migrating Power BI reports, datasets, semantic models, or DAX calculations into Sigma Computing.

Experience developing dashboards, designing data models, and validating reporting outputs.

Experience working with SQL and cloud data warehouse platforms is preferred.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on BI professional with strong expertise in Sigma Computing and Power BI, particularly in migrating Power BI semantic models, datasets, and DAX calculations to Sigma Computing. The candidate should be comfortable translating business requirements into scalable data models and interactive dashboards, validating migrated reports, and troubleshooting data and performance issues.

Candidates with demonstrable Sigma Computing project experience, Power BI migration expertise, strong SQL skills, and exposure to cloud data warehouses will be preferred.
