Power Bi Developer

Role & responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations based on business requirements.
• Build and optimize Power BI semantic models using appropriate data modeling techniques.
• Develop complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and calculated tables as required.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
• Perform data transformation and cleansing using Power Query (M).
• Implement star schema and dimensional modeling best practices.
• Work with large datasets and optimize Power BI reports for performance and usability.
• Configure and manage Power BI datasets, reports, workspaces, refresh schedules, and gateways.
• Implement and support Row-Level Security (RLS) and other data access requirements.
• Validate report results against source systems and ensure data accuracy.
• Troubleshoot issues related to data refresh, DAX, report performance, and data connectivity.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with Azure services or cloud-based data platforms.
• Exposure to Power BI deployment pipelines and CI/CD.
• Experience with Git / Azure DevOps.
• Exposure to data migration or modernization projects such as Tableau to Power BI.
• Understanding of enterprise BI governance, workspace management, and security.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
