Job Title: Power BI Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with 57 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Power BI, semantic modeling, dashboard development, and data visualization, along with experience supporting BI modernization and migration initiatives from legacy reporting platforms.

The role involves working closely with BI Architects, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to design, develop, optimize, and support enterprise reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and scorecards.
• Build and manage semantic models, datasets, dataflows, and workspaces.
• Support migration of reports and dashboards from legacy BI platforms (Tableau, Qlik, MicroStrategy, SSRS, etc.) to Power BI.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Architects to ensure efficient data integration and reporting architecture.
• Develop and optimize DAX calculations, Power Query transformations, and data models.
• Implement dimensional models using star schema and snowflake schema design principles.
• Support report deployment, security configuration, workspace management, and release activities.
• Perform report validation, reconciliation, performance tuning, and user acceptance support.
• Create technical documentation, report catalogs, and data dictionaries.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, demos, and retrospectives.

Required Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Reporting Development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI.
• Experience developing: 
• Power BI Reports & Dashboards
• Semantic Models
• Power BI Dataflows
• Power Query
• DAX
• Strong understanding of: 
• Data Modeling
• Star Schema & Snowflake Schema
• Data Warehousing Concepts
• Reporting Best Practices
• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with enterprise datasets.
• Experience consuming data from multiple sources including databases, APIs, files, and cloud platforms.
• Understanding of Power BI performance optimization techniques.
• Exposure to Azure and cloud-based analytics environments.
• Experience working with source control, deployment pipelines, and release processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Tableau-to-Power BI or other BI platform migration projects.
• Hands-on exposure such as: 
• OneLake
• Lakehouse
• Data Factory
• Dataflows Gen2
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Synapse, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and BI deployment automation.
• Exposure to Power BI governance, security, and workspace administration.
