Job Title: PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA)
Experience: 8–12 Years
Location: PAN India

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL DBA with strong expertise in PostgreSQL database administration along with hands-on knowledge of Oracle RAC, Oracle Database, and Oracle Data Guard. The candidate will be responsible for database installation, configuration, performance tuning, high availability, backup/recovery, monitoring, security, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
• Perform database administration activities across development, UAT, and production environments.
• Monitor database health, performance, availability, and capacity.
• Perform PostgreSQL performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and database parameter optimization.
• Manage database backup, restore, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery activities.
• Troubleshoot database incidents, connectivity issues, locking, performance bottlenecks, and replication failures.
• Implement and maintain database security, roles, permissions, and access controls.
• Support database migration, upgrades, and environment refresh activities.
• Work on high-availability and failover solutions for critical database environments.
• Provide production support and perform root-cause analysis for database-related issues.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, DevOps, and security teams.
• Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks.

Oracle Database Responsibilities

• Good hands-on knowledge of Oracle Database administration.
• Experience with Oracle RAC installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Oracle Data Guard for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Support Oracle database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and production issues.

Candidate Profile

• 8–12 years of experience in database administration.
• Strong hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
• Good working knowledge of Oracle database technologies, particularly RAC and Data Guard.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting critical production databases.
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
