    About this role

    Cloud Database Administration
      1. Provide L3 support and administration for:
      • EDB Postgres Advanced Server (EPAS)
      • PostgreSQL Community Edition
      • Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL
      • Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server
      • PostgreSQL deployed on Azure VM, AWS EC2, and On-Premises.
      1. Manage end-to-end lifecycle of cloud PostgreSQL platforms including:
      • Provisioning
      • Configuration
      • Security Hardening
      • Monitoring
      • Backup Recovery
      • HA/DR Configuration
      • Performance Optimization
    Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server
      1. Administer and optimize Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server environments.
      2. Configure:
      • High Availability (Zone Redundant/Same Zone)
      • Read Replicas
      • PITR (Point-in-Time Recovery)
      • Long-Term Retention (LTR)
      • Private Endpoints
      • VNET Integration
      1. Monitor performance using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Alerts.
      2. Perform Flex Server upgrades, storage scaling, compute scaling, and maintenance planning.
    AWS Aurora PostgreSQL
      1. Manage Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL clusters in production environments.
      2. Configure and maintain:
      • Aurora Replicas
      • Multi-AZ Deployments
      • Global Database
      • Cross-Region DR
      • Automated Backups Snapshots
      1. Optimize Aurora-specific features including:
      • Serverless v2
      • Provisioned Clusters
      • Reader Endpoints
      • Performance Insights
      1. Conduct Aurora cluster patching, engine version upgrades, and failover testing.
    High Availability Disaster Recovery
      1. Design and implement HA/DR solutions using:
      • Aurora Global Database

      • EDB Failover Manager (EFM)
      • RepMgr
      • Streaming Replication
      • Logical Replication
      1. Conduct DR drills and ensure compliance with defined RTO/RPO objectives across Azure and AWS environments.
    Performance Engineering
      1. Perform database performance tuning using:
      • pg_stat_statements
      • auto_explain
      • Performance Insights (AWS)
      • Azure Query Store
      • EXPLAIN ANALYZE
      1. Optimize:
      • Queries
      • Indexes
      • Partitioning
      • Connection Pooling (PgBouncer)
      • Database Parameters
      1. Execute benchmarking and capacity planning activities using pgBench and workload simulation tools.
    Backup Recovery
      1. Manage backup and recovery using:
      • pg_dump / pg_dumpall
      • pgBackRest
      • Azure Backup LTR
      • Aurora Snapshots
      • PITR Recovery
      1. Regularly validate restore procedures through DR and recovery testing.
    Security Compliance
      1. Implement security controls aligned with:
      • RBI Guidelines

      1. Configure:
      • Microsoft Entra ID Authentication
      • IAM Authentication (AWS)
