Port Operations Supervisor

Role & responsibilities :

* Manage end-to-end break bulk cargo operations, including vessel discharge, loading, cargo handling, storage and delivery.

* Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs authorities, port authorities and clearing agents.

* Handle import/export documentation, customs clearance, port clearance and cargo movement.

* Plan and monitor cargo transportation from port to project/site locations.

* Ensure timely clearance and delivery of heavy, oversized and project cargo.

* Monitor port handling costs, freight charges, demurrage/detention and other logistics expenses.

* Coordinate with contractors, transporters and internal project/procurement teams.

* Ensure compliance with port, customs, HSE and statutory requirements.

* Resolve operational issues related to documentation, cargo damage, vessel schedules and clearance delays.

* Prepare MIS and operational reports covering cargo movement, clearance status, costs and delivery schedules.

Preferred candidate profile:

* 8 - 15 years of relevant experience in Port Operations, Break Bulk, Freight Forwarding, Customs Clearance or Project Logistics.

* Experience in handling heavy/oversized/project cargo will be an advantage.

* Strong knowledge of port operations, customs procedures, shipping documentation and freight forwarding.

* Good coordination, negotiation, vendor management and problem-solving skills.

* Candidates from Oil & Gas, EPC, Infrastructure, Mining or Heavy Engineering industries preferred.
