Our Professional Services (PS) team partners with PC insurers globally to implement and optimize Guidewire's cloud platform. We work as a unified global team, enabling customers to adopt technology efficiently while driving continuous improvement and innovation. As a PMO - Lead Consultant (P4), you will own delivery governance and operational coordination for complex Guidewire implementation and transformation programs supporting the Japan market. You will partner with Project Managers, program and engagement leaders, cross-functional teams, system integrators, and customer stakeholders to establish predictable delivery, maintain executive visibility, and drive timely decisions across workstreams.
Job Description
This role requires business-level Japanese speaking and writing proficiency, strong English communication skills, comfort working across Japan-based and global teams, and the ability to operate as a trusted delivery advisor in a complex, multi-workstream environment.
What you'll do
- Own the PMO governance model for one complex, multi-workstream, multi-vendor, or multi-country Guidewire program, ensuring consistent planning, reporting, RAID management, financial visibility, and decision-making.
- Lead integrated planning and execution tracking across project workstreams, including milestones, dependencies, critical path activities, resource assumptions, and delivery commitments.
- Establish and maintain program-level dashboards, status reporting, RAID logs, action trackers, governance calendars, and executive readouts that provide a clear view of health, progress, risks, and decisions required.
- Partner with Project Managers and workstream leads to identify delivery risks and issues early, develop mitigation plans, and drive timely escalation and resolution.
- Shape and facilitate governance forums, including steering committees, program reviews, partner governance, delivery leadership meetings, and customer status forums.
- Coordinate effectively across Japanese-speaking customer stakeholders, Japan-based delivery teams, global Product and Field teams, offshore teams, and system integration partners.
- Own or support financial governance, including budget and burn tracking, forecast updates, resource and utilization visibility, margin inputs, and variance analysis.
- Promote adherence to Guidewire delivery processes, tools, templates, quality gates, and reporting standards while identifying opportunities to improve delivery predictability and efficiency.
- Institutionalize AI-enabled and data-driven PMO practices, such as automated status drafting, risk and issue clustering, schedule-risk analysis, portfolio dashboards, and forecasting improvements.
- Develop and share reusable PMO playbooks, templates, and lessons learned that improve consistency across Japan and Global Delivery engagements.
- Mentor and guide project analysts, PMO consultants, and delivery team members in governance, reporting, stakeholder communication, and delivery discipline.
- Communicate clearly in both Japanese and English, adapting content and style for customer executives, delivery teams, partners, and global leadership.
What you'll bring
Required
- 10+ years of experience, including substantial PMO, project management, program governance, or delivery operations experience in enterprise software, technology consulting, or professional services.
- Demonstrated experience owning governance and delivery coordination for large, complex, or multi-workstream implementation or transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, PMO governance, delivery controls, financial tracking, risk management, dependency management, and executive reporting.
- Experience working with Agile delivery methods, structured project management frameworks, or hybrid delivery models.
- Business-level Japanese speaking and writing proficiency is required, with the ability to communicate confidently with Japan-based customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong English proficiency, written and spoken, for collaboration with global Product, Field, Delivery, and partner teams.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders, facilitate difficult discussions, drive decisions, and manage expectations across customer, partner, and internal teams.
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira or Rally, Confluence or SharePoint, Microsoft Project or equivalent planning tools, and reporting or dashboard platforms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accountability for outcomes.
- Understanding of enterprise software implementation concepts, including integration, testing, data migration, release management, deployment, and production readiness.
- Ability to use data, automation, and responsible AI to improve delivery visibility, reporting quality, forecasting, and operational efficiency.
Preferred
- Experience delivering Guidewire or other core enterprise platforms for PC insurers.
- Experience working with Japanese insurers, Japan-market insurance products, or Japan-specific regulatory and business practices.
- Background in Professional Services, consulting, program management, or delivery operations in a global organization.
- Experience with multi-vendor, system integrator, or offshore/onshore delivery models.
- Experience creating governance playbooks, PMO standards, delivery dashboards, or continuous improvement initiatives adopted across multiple engagements.
- Guidewire product knowledge or certification, such as InsuranceSuite, PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, or related cloud capabilities.
- Certification in PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum, SAFe, or a comparable delivery methodology.
Your Impact
In this P4 role, you will improve delivery predictability, customer confidence, and operational efficiency across complex Japan-market programs.
