Plumber

Key Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspection and maintenance of plumbing systems across the school.
• Repair and maintain water supply pipes, drainage systems, taps, valves, wash basins, toilets, flush systems, and other sanitary fittings.
• Identify and repair water leakage, blockages, pipe damage, and drainage issues.
• Handle installation, replacement, and repair of plumbing fixtures and pipelines.
• Maintain water tanks, pumps, pipelines, and related plumbing equipment.
• Attend to plumbing complaints and maintenance requests promptly.
• Carry out preventive maintenance to avoid plumbing breakdowns.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety while performing plumbing work.
• Maintain basic records of maintenance activities and materials used.
• Support the maintenance team during emergencies and other facility-related requirements.

Additional Skills Required

The candidate should have basic working knowledge of:

• Electrical work switches, sockets, lights, minor electrical repairs, etc.
• Painting – basic wall painting, touch-up, and minor repair work.
• Basic carpentry and general maintenance will be an added advantage.

Required Skills

• Strong practical knowledge of plumbing and pipe fitting.
• Knowledge of PVC, CPVC, UPVC, GI and other commonly used pipes.
• Knowledge of sanitary fittings and drainage systems.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot plumbing problems.
• Basic knowledge of electrical maintenance.
• Basic painting and general maintenance skills.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Good discipline and workplace safety awareness.

Educational Qualification

• ITI / Diploma in Plumbing or related technical qualification preferred.
• Relevant practical experience will also be considered.

Preferred Experience

Experience in schools, hospitals, hotels, residential/commercial buildings, apartments, facility management, or other institutional environments will be preferred.

Key Requirement

Plumbing must be the candidate's primary skill. Basic knowledge of electrical work, painting, and general maintenance is required as an additional skill.
