Role Overview

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Playwright, Page Object Model (POM), and Test Automation Framework Design and Development to build, maintain, and enhance automated test coverage across the Pipes platform.

The role involves developing scalable and maintainable automation frameworks, designing end-to-end (E2E) test scenarios, troubleshooting test failures, and integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Playwright Automation

• Strong hands-on experience in Playwright automation using JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Develop and maintain end-to-end (E2E) automated test scripts for web applications.
• Implement effective locator strategies using role-based locators, text locators, CSS, XPath, and other appropriate selectors.
• Handle dynamic elements, DOM synchronization issues, waits, timeouts, and flaky tests.
• Work with Playwright features such as browser contexts, multiple user sessions, file uploads/downloads, and debugging tools.

2. Page Object Model (POM)

• Design and implement the Page Object Model (POM) for reusable, maintainable, and scalable automation scripts.
• Create page classes, reusable methods, and common components to reduce code duplication.
• Implement effective test data management and environment-specific configurations.
• Follow coding standards and automation best practices to improve framework maintainability.

3. Test Automation Framework Development

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Playwright.
• Implement reusable utilities, fixtures, hooks, assertions, configuration management, and reporting mechanisms.
• Structure test suites for modularity, scalability, and parallel execution.
• Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve flaky tests and framework-level issues.
• Contribute to test coverage measurement and continuous improvement of automation practices.

4. API and Backend Testing

• Develop automated tests for frontend and backend components.
• Perform API and integration testing using appropriate tools and frameworks.
• Validate application workflows and data consistency across system components.

5. Collaboration and Delivery

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and engineering leads across multiple squads.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to testing strategy discussions.
• Document defects with clear reproduction steps, environment details, and supporting evidence.

Required Skills

• 4–5 years of experience in QA automation or software engineering with a testing focus.
• Strong hands-on experience in Playwright automation.
• Experience designing and implementing Page Object Model (POM).
• Experience building or maintaining automation frameworks from scratch or enhancing existing frameworks.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, or another relevant programming language.
• Strong understanding of locator strategies, synchronization, debugging, and flaky test handling.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated test execution.
• Knowledge of API testing and integration testing.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.

Good to Have

• Experience with Cypress, Selenium, or other automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of C#/.NET and xUnit.
• Experience with Docker and cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with React-based web applications
