Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Playwright Automation Test Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable test automation solutions for modern web applications. The candidate should have a solid understanding of QA engineering practices and be capable of independently owning automation activities across the testing lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain robust Playwright-based automation frameworks using TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Automate functional, regression, smoke, sanity and end-to-end business scenarios.
- Develop reusable automation components, utilities, fixtures and page objects.
- Implement Page Object Model (POM) and other appropriate automation design patterns.
- Perform cross-browser testing across Chromium, Firefox and WebKit.
- Automate UI and API testing using Playwright capabilities.
- Handle complex UI scenarios involving dynamic elements, multiple tabs/windows, iframes, file uploads/downloads and asynchronous operations.
- Develop effective locator strategies and minimize flaky tests through appropriate synchronization and Playwright auto-waiting capabilities.
- Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Execute automation suites in parallel and optimize execution time.
- Implement test reporting, screenshots, videos, traces and logging to facilitate faster failure analysis.
- Analyze automation failures, identify root causes and distinguish application defects from automation issues.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts and functional testers to identify appropriate automation coverage.
