JOB DESCRIPTION PLANNING ENGINEER

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor detailed production schedules for manufacturing of Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Columns, Reactors, and other static equipment.
• Coordinate with Design, Procurement, Production, Quality, and Dispatch teams to ensure smooth execution of projects.
• Develop and track shop-floor schedules, monitor progress against plan, and identify bottlenecks affecting delivery timelines.
• Prepare weekly and monthly production reports, material status reports, and project progress updates.
• Ensure availability of drawings, BOMs, raw materials, and bought-out items as per the production plan.
• Monitor fabrication activities including cutting, forming, fit-up, welding, NDT, PWHT, machining, hydrotesting, and final dispatch.
• Follow up with internal departments and vendors to achieve project milestones and committed delivery dates.
• Participate in capacity planning, load balancing, and optimization of manufacturing resources.
• Support implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–10 years of experience in Planning, preferably in a heavy engineering or fabrication environment.
• Hands-on experience in planning and scheduling for Pressure Vessels and Heat Exchangers manufacturing.
• Good understanding of shop-floor scheduling, fabrication sequences, and welding processes.
• Knowledge of ASME Section VIII Div. 1, ASME Section II, Section V, Section IX, and other applicable fabrication standards.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP/Oracle.
