Planning Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Planning Engineer with 35 years of experience in project planning and execution for water infrastructure, water treatment plants (WTP), sewage treatment plants (STP), pumping stations and EPC projects.

The candidate will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, resource planning, reporting and coordination to ensure timely execution of project activities at project sites, including projects under AMRUT 2.0 and Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain project schedules, baseline schedules and detailed execution plans for water infrastructure and EPC projects.
• Develop daily, weekly and monthly work plans in coordination with site and project teams.
• Monitor planned vs. actual progress, identify delays and deviations, and update project schedules accordingly.
• Prepare S-curves, progress charts, dashboards and MIS reports for project monitoring and management review.
• Coordinate with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Procurement and Project teams to ensure timely completion of activities.
• Monitor project milestones, activity dependencies and critical path activities.
• Prepare manpower, material and equipment resource plans based on project requirements.
• Track BOQ quantities, work progress, procurement schedules and milestone achievements.
• Identify potential delays and support the project team in developing recovery and corrective action plans.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports for management, clients and consultants.
• Participate in project review meetings and provide planning and progress updates.
• Maintain project planning records, schedules and documentation.
• Support the Project Manager in achieving project milestones within the approved schedule and project plan.

Required Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• 35 years of relevant experience in project planning for infrastructure, water supply, WTP, STP, pumping station or EPC projects.
• Practical experience in project planning, scheduling and progress monitoring.
• Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel for MIS reporting, progress tracking and project analysis.
• Ability to prepare and monitor baseline schedules, S-curves, critical path and project milestones.
• Understanding of BOQ, quantities, construction activities and project execution processes.
• Knowledge of resource planning and material tracking.
• Good coordination, communication and analytical skills.
• Willingness to work at project sites and travel as required.
• Experience in AMRUT 2.0, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) or other government infrastructure projects will be an advantage.
