Planning Engineer

Role & responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Scheduling

- Prepare master project schedule, monthly plans, weekly look-ahead plans using MS Project / Primavera

- Prepare and update project budget, cash flow projections

- Coordinate with Project Managers for site execution plans and resource allocation

- Prepare and update project milestones, critical path analysis

2. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

- Monitor daily progress vs plan and highlight deviations

- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly progress reports for management and project teams

- Track and report project timeline deviations, suggest corrective actions

- Conduct site visits to track progress and update project plans

3. Budget & Cost Tracking

- Track project budget vs actuals for all cost heads

- Highlight budget overruns and suggest cost optimization measures

- Coordinate with QS team for bill certification and budget revisions if required

- Prepare and update project cost forecasts

4. Reporting & MIS

- Prepare project dashboards, S-curve, milestone charts for management review

- Generate all required project reports - progress, resource, material, financial

- Distribute reports to project teams, management as per schedule

- Prepare and present project status reports to management

5. Coordination & Communication

- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, and other stakeholders for plan implementation

- Communicate project plans, progress, and deviations to all stakeholders

- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for resource allocation and scheduling

Preferred candidate profile

- B.E / B.Tech Civil with 3-5 years experience in construction planning

- Expert in MS Project / Primavera, MS Excel

- Good knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling, progress tracking

- Strong analytical and reporting skills
