About this role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Laravel Developer with 4-6 years of experience in PHP and Laravel to
support client engagement focused on backend application development, database optimization, and system
performance.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Laravel, database performance tuning, and scalable
backend architecture, with the ability to optimize high-volume applications, mentor developers, and
collaborate closely with client stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions.
You will be responsible for developing robust backend solutions, optimizing application and database
performance, supporting production environments, and contributing to the successful delivery of enterprise
applications.

You will:
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using PHP and Laravel.
• Analyze, optimize, and enhance complex database operations to improve application performance and
scalability.
• Design efficient database schemas, indexing strategies, and optimize SQL queries for
MySQL/PostgreSQL.
• Identify and resolve application, database, and infrastructure performance bottlenecks.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and scalable backend services.
• Implement caching, queues, and performance optimization techniques using Redis and Laravel queues.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, security best practices, and
engineering guidelines.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements
into technical solutions.
• Support deployment activities, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure smooth application
releases.
• Mentor team members and contribute to technical discussions and solution design
Key Responsibilities
- Backend Application Development
• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance scalable backend applications using PHP and Laravel.
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and secure code following coding standards.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and scalable backend services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
• Contribute to scalable backend architecture and technical solution design.
- Database Management & Optimization
• Optimize MySQL queries and database performance.
• Design efficient database schemas, structures, and indexing strategies.
• Analyze execution plans and identify opportunities for query and database optimization.
• Work with large-scale, high-volume databases and performance-critical applications.
• Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks.
• Ensure database integrity, scalability, and efficient data management.
- Performance & Application Optimization
• Identify and resolve application, database, and infrastructure performance bottlenecks.
• Implement caching strategies using Redis.
• Implement and manage Laravel queues, job scheduling, and asynchronous processing.
• Monitor and improve application responsiveness and scalability.
• Contribute to performance tuning of high-volume applications.
- Application Support & Collaboration
• Work closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to understand technical requirements.
• Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions.
• Support deployment activities and troubleshoot production issues.

What We're Looking For:
Core Skills:
• 6+ years of professional experience in PHP and Laravel development.
• Strong hands-on expertise in PHP and Laravel Framework.
• Strong expertise in MySQL, including:
o Query optimization
o Indexing
o Execution plan analysis
o Database design
o Transactions
o Performance tuning
• Experience working with large-scale, high-volume databases and performance-critical applications.
• Strong understanding of Laravel, MVC architecture, RESTful APIs, and backend application design.
• Experience with Redis, caching strategies, queues, job scheduling, and asynchronous processing.
• Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frontend integration.
• Experience with Git, Linux, Docker, and CI/CD tools.

• Immediate or short notice availability will be an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with database partitioning, replication, read replicas, database migrations, and archival
strategies.
• Knowledge of performance monitoring and profiling tools such as MySQL Performance Schema, Slow
Query Log, ELK, Grafana, or Application Insights.
• Experience working on enterprise or high-traffic Laravel applications.
• Exposure to microservices, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems.
• Experience mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, and contributing to architecture
