Pharmacist

Role & responsibilities

• Provide L1/L2/L3 application support for pharmacy and healthcare applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application incidents related to pharmacy systems, EMR, and EHR platforms.
• Analyze and resolve issues related to prescription processing, medication orders, dispensing workflows, and patient medication records.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents and production issues and recommend permanent corrective actions.
• Monitor application performance, investigate system errors, and ensure adherence to SLAs.
• Support EMR/EHR integrations with pharmacy management systems and other healthcare applications.
• Work with healthcare interfaces, APIs, HL7 messages, and FHIR standards, where applicable.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, database, QA, and healthcare operations teams to resolve complex issues.
• Manage incident, problem, and change requests using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.
• Prepare incident reports, RCA documentation, knowledge articles, and support documentation.
• Participate in application testing, release validation, deployment support, and post-production monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare data privacy, security, and patient information handling requirements.

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience in Pharmacy Application Support, Healthcare IT Support, or Healthcare Application Management.
• Hands-on knowledge of EMR/EHR systems and pharmacy-related workflows.
• Experience in incident management, problem management, troubleshooting, and RCA.
• Understanding of prescription management, medication orders, pharmacy claims, and dispensing workflows.
• Knowledge of healthcare data exchange standards such as HL7 and FHIR is preferred.
• Experience with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar ITSM platforms.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database troubleshooting is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a production support environment and meet defined SLAs.
