Performance Test Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Performance Testing / Performance Engineering professional with strong hands-on expertise in LoadRunner. The candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, analyzing, and optimizing performance tests for enterprise applications and identifying performance bottlenecks across application, database, API, and infrastructure layers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing.
• Develop and maintain performance test scripts using Micro Focus/OpenText LoadRunner.
• Work with LoadRunner VuGen, Controller, and Analysis.
• Perform workload modelling, test planning, scripting, test execution, and result analysis.
• Analyze application performance and identify bottlenecks and root causes.
• Monitor application, database, middleware, and infrastructure performance during tests.
• Conduct baseline, benchmark, capacity, and scalability testing.
• Perform correlation, parameterization, rendezvous, transactions, and scripting enhancements in LoadRunner.
• Analyze CPU, memory, response time, throughput, TPS, latency, and error rates.
• Work closely with developers, architects, DevOps, DBAs, and infrastructure teams to resolve performance issues.
• Prepare detailed performance test reports, dashboards, and recommendations.
• Participate in Performance Engineering activities and provide optimization recommendations.
• Support performance testing in Web, API, microservices, and distributed applications.
• Identify performance risks early in the SDLC and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience in Performance Testing and Performance Engineering.
• Hands-on expertise in LoadRunner / OpenText LoadRunner.
• Strong knowledge of:
• LoadRunner VuGen
• LoadRunner Controller
• LoadRunner Analysis
• Correlation & Parameterization
• Workload modelling
• Load/Stress/Endurance testing
• Bottleneck identification
• Experience with Web HTTP/HTML, REST API and web services performance testing.
• Good understanding of SQL and database performance.
• Knowledge of application and infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows performance metrics.
• Good understanding of CPU, Memory, Disk I/O, Network, GC and JVM metrics.

Performance Engineering Skills

• Performance bottleneck analysis and root-cause analysis.
• Capacity planning and scalability assessment.
• Performance benchmarking.
• Application tuning and optimization.
• Production performance monitoring and analysis.
• Performance modelling and workload characterization.
• Experience working with APM/monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of cloud performance testing on AWS/Azure/GCP is an advantage.
• Exposure to CI/CD and performance testing automation is preferred.

Good to Have

• JMeter / NeoLoad / Gatling experience.
• API performance testing.
