About this role
Job Title: Performance Marketing Content Lead
Location: Bangalore, India
Experience: 24 years of experience in performance marketing or growth, with at least 1 year of end-to-end marketing ownership at a D2C brand. Strong hands-on experience with Meta and Google Ads, customer acquisition, retention, and improving CAC/ROAS. Experience in content strategy, creative direction, and e-commerce growth, preferably in food, beverage, wellness, or FMCG brands.
About Dorje Teas:
Dorje is a Darjeeling tea brand that owns its garden. We grow, pluck and pack our tea at Selim Hill, our own estate in Darjeeling, and sell it directly to people who care where their tea comes from and how it is made.
Most tea brands buy leaf. We grow ours, and every tin carries the story of a real place and the people who work it. Darjeeling's output has fallen by over a third in a decade, so good leaf is genuinely scarce. Our job is to make that provenance mean something to the people who drink it.
We serve two kinds of tea drinkers: connoisseurs who brew Darjeeling every morning, and younger, wellness-minded people who want a better daily ritual than a free sachet. We sell through our website, Amazon, and a growing set of retail and marketplace partners.
Role Overview:
You will own how Dorje finds new customers and keeps them: paid marketing, retention, the website funnel and content. You will be our in-house performance agency and creative studio in one, responsible for the ads, messages and stories, and for knowing which ones work.
The job is to grow revenue efficiently while protecting what makes the brand special.
What Youll Do:
- Paid growth strategy: set the plan for how paid acquisition grows revenue across Meta, Google and Amazon, including channel mix, budget allocation and quarterly targets.
- Efficiency and profitability: own CAC, ROAS, MER and contribution margin by SKU. Decide where the budget goes and where it stops.
- Retention: turn first-time buyers into regulars through WhatsApp, email and community. Own first-to-second order rate and lifetime value.
- Content and creative: shape the ideas, write the briefs and direct our in-house designers and video editors across ads, social, website and packaging. tell the story of our estate, our harvests and our people in a way that feels premium and true.
- Website and conversion: own the funnel from traffic to checkout to delivery, including landing pages, friction points, pricing and bundle mechanics. Turn customer feedback into a prioritised website roadmap.
- Testing: build the testing roadmap across creative, audiences, offers and structure. Every test has a hypothesis, a decision rule and a documented result.
- Launches: own the plan for new products and variants, including positioning, audiences, budget and success metrics.
- Measurement and reporting: own attribution and reporting. Give leadership a clear weekly and monthly view of spend, CAC, ROAS, cohorts and next actions.
- New channels: test new channels and formats, with clear rules for scaling or stopping.
- Partners: brief and manage freelancers and agencies where we need them.
What Were Looking For:
Skills:
- Efficient customer acquisition across paid channels
- Retention, cohort and lifetime-value thinking
- Creative direction, storytelling and copywriting for a premium brand
- Funnel design, conversion optimisation and A/B testing with statistical rigour
- Unit economics: how CAC, ROAS, LTV and contribution margin flow through the PL
- Analytics, attribution and dashboarding, turning data into decisions
- Working knowledge of the e-commerce stack (Shopify or equivalent, order management, payment gateways). Not engineer-level, but enough to scope features, spot problems and understand their effect on unit economics, such as fulfilment, returns, payment failures and gateway fees.
Experience:
- 2-4 years in performance marketing or growth, including at least 1 year owning marketing end to end at a D2C brand.
- Hands-on depth in Meta and Google: you can audit an account and run it yourself.
- A track record of improving CAC and ROAS while scaling spend, without relying on heavy discounting, with numbers you can share.
- Experience owning both acquisition and retention.
- A portfolio of content or campaigns you created or directed.
- Experience managing designers, editors, freelancers or junior marketers.
- Food, beverage, wellness, health or FMCG experience is a strong plus.
Qualifications:
- A graduate degree in any discipline.
- An MBA or marketing certifications are welcome but not required. Your work and results matter more than your degrees.
What we offer
- Ownership of a whole marketing function at a brand with a story few others can tell.
- A direct line to the CEO and a seat in the decisions that shape the brand.
- Competitive pay and the chance to build something meaningful from an early stage.
