Pediatric Specialist

Key SkillsRole & responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and treat infants, children, and adolescents.
• Monitor physical, mental, and developmental growth.
• Manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions.
• Provide vaccinations and preventive healthcare.
• Conduct routine pediatric health assessments.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic investigations.
• Prescribe medications and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Identify developmental, nutritional, behavioral, and growth-related concerns.
• Provide emergency care when required.
• Counsel parents and caregivers regarding nutrition, hygiene, vaccinations, and child development.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records.
• Coordinate care with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Follow hospital/clinic policies, medical guidelines, and patient-safety standards.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
• Postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics, such as MD/DNB Pediatrics or equivalent.
• Valid medical registration/licensure.
• Relevant clinical experience in pediatrics is preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with children and their parents/caregivers.
