Payroll Consultant

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end payroll testing and validation.
• Validate payroll calculations, salary structures, and payroll components.
• Test statutory compliance, including PF, ESIC, PT, TDS, LWF, Gratuity, and Bonus.
• Validate Old and New Tax Regime calculations, tax declarations, proof verification, and TDS.
• Test payroll reports such as Payslips, Salary Register, Bank Transfer Reports, and Statutory Reports.
• Prepare and execute test cases, identify defects, and perform regression testing after bug fixes.
• Support client onboarding and payroll configuration.
• Coordinate with developers to clarify functional requirements and validate fixes.
• Prepare and maintain testing and implementation documentation.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Indian Payroll processing.
• Good understanding of payroll statutory compliance.
• Hands-on experience in payroll implementation and functional testing.
• Strong knowledge of Old and New Tax Regimes and TDS computation.
• Hands-on experience with more than one HRMS/Payroll software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
