Payment Posting Team Leader

1. Lead, coach, and mentor the Cash Applications team to achieve productivity, quality, and service-level targets.
2. Oversee daily payment posting, cash applications, adjustments, and denial processing to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
3. Monitor payment reconciliation and ensure accurate posting of payments to accounts receivable (AR) and the general ledger.
4. Investigate and resolve unapplied, unidentified, and misdirected payments within prescribed timelines.
5. Monitor and process patient and insurance refunds in accordance with established procedures.
6. Conduct end-of-day quality audits and reconcile lockbox, voucher, and live payment transactions.
7. Analyze payment posting errors and quality trends, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
8. Generate and review reports on payment exceptions, reconciliation discrepancies, and high-priority issues.
9. Collaborate with clients to standardize refund processes and resolve EFT/ERA setup gaps.
10. Develop and maintain SOPs, training guides, policies, and procedures for payment posting and cash applications.
11. Monitor team productivity, distribute workloads effectively, manage backlogs, and provide hands-on operational support when required.
12. Ensure compliance with quality standards and client requirements while driving continuous process improvement.
