    About the Company

For over 50 years, P.S. Exports & Consolidates, previously P.S. Apparels, has manufactured high-quality woven garments for brands in North America, Europe, and Japan. Its vertically integrated supply chain supports quality control throughout production, with sustainability as an operating focus.

    Role Purpose

The Pattern Maker is accountable for the pattern of every womenswear and kids wear style assigned to them, across all sampling stages. They convert buyer tech packs and fit feedback into patterns that run smoothly on the production line. They also share what they know, so teammates can step in on their styles when required.

    Key Responsibilities

    a. Study each tech pack, spec sheet, size chart and construction details on receipt.

    b. Raise questions on missing or unclear specs with Merchandising before starting the pattern.

    c. Check fabric shrinkage and test reports and apply them to the pattern.

    2. Womenswear Pattern development

    a. Develop womenswear patterns in Gerber AccuMark: tops, blouses, dresses, skirts and trousers, as the order book requires.

    b. Handle shaping correctly: darts, princess seams, bust and hip ease, drape and bias cuts.

    c. Adjust patterns for fabric behavior (stretch, shrinkage, drape and slippage)

    3. Kids wear Pattern development

    a. Develop kids wear patterns across infant, toddler and older children's size ranges.

    b. Build in comfort and ease of dressing (openings, closures, growth allowance) as specified.

    c. Apply buyer and market child-safety requirements, such as rules on drawstrings, cords and small parts.

    4. Pattern checking and release

    a. Apply correct seam allowances, notches, grain lines, drill holes and labelling to department standards.

    b. Check every pattern (walking seams, measurements, piece count) before release to Sampling.

    5. Fit and buyer comments

    a. Attend fit sessions with the Manager Design and Product Development.

    b. Turn fit and buyer comments into pattern corrections within the agreed turnaround.

    c. Record each pattern revision and the reason for it.

    6. Size set and grading

    a. Prepare the size set pattern after fit approval.

    b. Give grade rules to the CAD Operator including split size ranges for kids wear and check graded nests before markers are made.

    7. PP sample and handover to bulk

    a. Make final pattern corrections for the PP sample.

    b. Make no pattern change after size set approval without written approval.

    c. Hand over the approved bulk pattern, with construction notes, to Cutting and Production.

    d. Attend PP meetings and support the pilot run; resolve pattern issues raised on the floor.

    6. Consumption, Library and team

    a. Give accurate pattern consumption to Merchandising for costing.

    b. Build and maintain womenswear and kids wear blocks in the Gerber library, with correct version control.

    c. Share womenswear and kids wear know-how with the team and guide the Pattern Trainee.

    Success Measures (KPIs)

    1. Right-first-time patterns - % of womenswear and kids wear styles approved without a pattern-caused resubmission

    2. Pattern turnaround - Days from tech pack to first pattern, and from comments to corrected pattern, against TNA

    3. PP approval on time - % of styles reaching PP approval by the TNA date

    4. Pattern errors in bulk - Pattern-related issues raised by Cutting or Production per month

    5. Child-safety compliance Kids wear styles with no pattern-related safety failure at test or inspection

    6. Block Library - Womenswear and kids wear base blocks built and approved within the first 6 months

    Candidate Profile
