About this role
Walter Bushnell is hiring an IPR Associate to support patent operations for our API portfolio. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role covering patent search, drafting, and FTO support for domestic and global markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patent searches & landscape analysis for APIs, intermediates & process routes
- Draft patent applications, specifications & invention disclosure forms (IDFs)
- Support Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) & non-infringement analysis for global filings
- Track patent expiry, exclusivity & litigation status across global markets
- Coordinate with R&D scientists for technical inputs on IP documentation
- Maintain IP trackers/databases for ongoing API projects
- Liaise with external patent attorneys for filing & prosecution
- Monitor competitor patent activity & prepare IP intelligence reports
Required Skills:
- Patent drafting experience is a must
- Hands-on with patent search tools (Espacenet, USPTO, PatBase, SciFinder, Derwent)
- Working knowledge of global patent laws & API patent landscape
- Basic understanding of organic chemistry/API synthesis
- Strong technical writing & documentation skills
Qualification: M.Sc. Chemistry / Oragnic Chemistry / B. Sc.Chemistry IPR certification
Experience: 1-3 Years
