Painting Supervisor

Role & responsibilities

• Conduct shift-start and shift-end meetings and communicate pending work, safety issues, and breakdowns.
• Plan daily painting activities as per production and dispatch schedules.
• Allocate work to painters and helpers and monitor manpower.
• Ensure customer-specific painting requirements are followed as per QF-17 / Purchase Order.
• Monitor paint mixing,viscosity, pot life, temperature, and humidity as required.
• Check booth temperature and humidity at regular intervals and maintain records.
• Ensure proper surface cleaning and air blowing of finished radiators before dispatch.
• Ensure availability and proper usage of paints, thinners, and other materials.
• Maintain job cards, inspection records, paint mixing records, and production reports.
• Monitor paint consumption and PNG gas consumption shift-wise.
• Coordinate with Blasting, Internal Coating, Quality, Maintenance, and Dispatch teams.
• Monitor painting equipment and report breakdowns or abnormalities to Maintenance.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of paints, thinners, and chemicals.
• Inspect empty paint and thinner containers before sending them to the scrap area.
• Train and guide painters and helpers on painting processes, quality, and safety.
• Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards in the paint shop.
• Ensure proper shift handover to the next shift supervisor.
• Report production, quality, safety, and manpower status to the concerned in-charge.

Preferred candidate profile

Diploma in Mechanical / BSc in Chemistry is preferred

Experience in Paint shop production
