Job Description - Paint Shop Engineer / Supervisor

Position - Paint Shop Production & Planning Engineer / Supervisor
Department - Production
Location - Pirangut, Pune

Key Responsibilities -

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily paint shop activities to achieve production targets.
• Ensure surface preparation, painting, and curing processes are carried out as per approved specifications.
• Manage painting operations for overhead cranes, crabs, girders, and structural components.
• Monitor paint consumption, productivity, quality, and manpower utilization.
• Coordinate with Production, QA, Stores, and Dispatch teams to ensure timely project completion.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, coating procedures, and quality standards.
• Conduct coating inspections and maintain related records and documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce rework.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards in the paint shop.
• Supervise and manage contractual manpower deployed in the Paint Shop.

Qualification -

• Diploma in Paint manufacturing & application / B.E. in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.

Experience -

• 2-5 years of experience in industrial painting, heavy fabrication, overhead cranes, steel structures, or material handling equipment.

Skills Required -

• Knowledge of protective coating systems and specifications.
• Understanding of surface preparation, corrosion protection, and quality inspection.
• Production planning and manpower management.
• ERP/SAP knowledge preferred.
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile -

• Experience in painting of Overhead Cranes, Structural Steel, Heavy Engineering Equipment, or Material Handling Systems.
