Optometrist / Senior Optometrist - Retail Eyewear

About the Role

We are looking for qualified and customer-oriented Optometrists / Senior Optometrists to join Lenskart. The role involves conducting eye examinations, dispensing prescriptions, recommending suitable lenses and frames, and delivering an excellent in-store customer experience.

Along with clinical responsibilities, the role includes product recommendations, sales performance, eye-test conversions and adherence to store processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct eye examinations by following the prescribed optometry process.
• Explain prescriptions and recommend suitable lenses, frames and eyewear solutions.
• Educate customers about single-vision and progressive lenses.
• Perform quality checks on fitted lenses before handing over products.
• Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate product recommendations.
• Drive sales, eye-test conversions and assigned store targets.
• Welcome walk-in customers and encourage them to avail of eye check-ups.
• Handle customer queries and resolve concerns professionally.
• Coordinate with customers regarding product collection and returns.
• Maintain store hygiene, equipment, stock accuracy and visual standards.
• Follow company SOPs and ensure a smooth customer experience.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Optometry is mandatory.
• Relevant experience in optometry, optical retail or an eyewear store is preferred.
• Strong understanding of eye testing, prescription interpretation and lens dispensing.
• Knowledge of lenses, frames and eyewear product recommendations.
• Good communication and customer-handling skills.
• Customer-oriented, proactive and comfortable working in a target-driven retail environment.
• Ability to build customer relationships and explain technical information clearly.
• Willingness to work in a retail store environment and follow operational procedures.
