About this role
- Operate and monitor HVAC systems, AHUs, FCUs, chillers, cooling towers, ventilation and exhaust systems as per SOPs.
- Monitor critical HVAC parameters such as temperature, relative humidity (RH), differential pressure and air changes in controlled areas.
- Monitor HVAC equipment through BMS (Building Management System) and report alarms, abnormalities and deviations to the concerned supervisor.
- Perform routine inspection of AHUs, filters, motors, fans, dampers, cooling/heating coils, pumps and associated equipment.
- Ensure proper operation of HVAC systems for production and cleanroom areas as per specified operating conditions.
- Check and record HVAC parameters in logbooks, checklists and operational records at defined frequencies.
- Carry out routine cleaning and replacement of pre-filters and other HVAC components as per SOP and maintenance schedule.
- Identify abnormal equipment conditions, breakdowns, leakage, unusual noise/vibration and immediately inform the Engineering/maintenance team.
- Assist maintenance personnel during preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment.
- Maintain proper pressure cascade and ensure HVAC systems are operating within specified limits.
- Follow all applicable GMP, cGMP, SOP, safety and EHS requirements while operating HVAC systems.
- Maintain good housekeeping in AHU rooms, utility areas and HVAC service areas.
- Support HVAC-related qualification, validation, calibration and requalification activities as required.
- Ensure timely completion of operational checklists, equipment logbooks and other HVAC documentation.
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, QA and other departments regarding HVAC-related issues and operational requirements.
- Immediately report any temperature/RH/differential pressure excursions, equipment failure or abnormal conditions.
- Follow permit-to-work, LOTO and other safety procedures during maintenance activities.
- Assist in monitoring energy consumption and efficient operation of HVAC and utility equipment.
- Perform other HVAC/utility-related activities assigned by the supervisor or Engineering department.
