Operations Manager For Fitness Equipment Store

OJ Sport is a supplier of gym and fitness equipment in the Democratic Republic of Congo, supplying premium fitness solutions for commercial gyms, hotels, apartment complexes, corporate fitness centres, schools, sports clubs and home gyms.

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Business Development & Operations Manager to lead our sales team, manage daily operations, manage staff, importation, costing, quotation and drive business growth. Basically you will be in charge of the entire business.

Your Role

This is a senior management position where you will be responsible for the overall performance of OJ Sport.

You will be expected to actively develop new business while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

• Identify and secure new commercial clients.
• Visit hotels, apartment developers, corporate companies, schools, government organisations and fitness centres.
• Build long-term relationships with key decision makers.
• Prepare quotations and negotiate contracts.
• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.

Operations Management

• Manage the showroom and daily operations.
• Supervise sales staff and technicians.
• Ensure excellent customer service.
• Monitor inventory and stock levels.
• Coordinate deliveries and installations.
• Manage after-sales service.

Project Management

Oversee complete gym installations including:

• Commercial gyms
• Hotels
• Apartment complexes
• Corporate wellness centres
• Schools
• Universities
• Government facilities
• Sports clubs

Marketing

• Develop marketing campaigns.
• Manage social media activities.
• Build partnerships with local businesses.
• Organise product demonstrations and promotional events.

Procurement

• Coordinate imports from international suppliers.
• Maintain relationships with manufacturers.
• Forecast stock requirements.

Requirements

Essential

• Minimum 5 years' management experience
• Proven experience in commercial sales of fitness equipment
• Experience managing staff
• Strong leadership skills
• Excellent English communication skills
• Willingness to relocate to Kinshasa, DRC

Highly Desirable

Experience in one or more of the following industries:

1. You will be required to stay in Congo for a duration of 2 years minimum term contract.

2. Salary will be negotiable depending on your experience between $1000 - $1200. You will be provided with sharing accommodation in large size house, with TV, servant and cook. Transport to work is provided by company. Security is also provided, and Congo is a relatively safe country.

3. Congo is very different to India, so you will be required to adapt to different culture and atmosphere easily.

4. You must be between 20 to 45 years.

5. You must be young and energetic and have some knowledge of the gym and fitness industry and be very proactive, dedicated and responsible.

6. You must be a non drinker or light drinker.

7. You must not have any health issues and must be active and physically fit.

8. You are willing to take up a new challenge in life to progress and be promoted in the company.

9. Africa background will be preferred but not necessary.

10. We require a deposit of 50,000 rupees from you on acceptance of our offer. This deposit will be refunded to you within 7 days after arriving to congo. The reason for this deposit is so that we know you are serious and you will not change your mind after we begin applying for your visa and purchase your air ticket.
