Operation Theatre Technician

Role & Responsibilities:

The OT Assistant will be expected to perform both Scrub (Sterile) and Circulating (Non-sterile) OT duties.

1. Scrub assistance: Scrub in and directly assist the ophthalmic surgeon during procedures while maintaining strict sterile technique.
2. Instrument handling: Prepare, arrange and handle ophthalmic surgical instruments and consumables during surgery.
3. OT preparation: Prepare the OT, surgical trolley, instruments, equipment and consumables before procedures.
4. Circulating assistance: Provide non-sterile assistance before and after surgery, including patient preparation, arranging required supplies ensuring smooth OT turnover.
5. Patient preparation: Assist with patient positioning and surgical preparation before procedures and provide assistance during post-operative shifting.
6. Sterilization & autoclave: Clean, disinfect and pack instruments and operate/manage the autoclave, ensuring proper sterilization and maintenance of sterilization protocols.
7. OT turnover: Assist with cleaning, disinfection and preparation of the OT between surgeries.
8. Inventory management: Maintain adequate stock of surgical instruments, consumables and OT supplies.
9. Infection control: Strictly follow aseptic technique, infection-control and biomedical-waste management protocols.

Candidate Expectations:

• Qualification: OT Technician / OT Assistant course or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Experience: Experienced candidates preferred, particularly those with ophthalmic OT experience.
• Should be comfortable with both scrub and circulating duties.
• Should have practical knowledge of ophthalmic instruments, sterilization and autoclave operation.
• Good teamwork, discipline and patient-handling skills.
• Language known - Kannada / English / Hindi / Marathi (any)

• 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM
• Monday to Saturday
