Operation & Process - Washery (CPP) || Mines, Tamnar

Role

Oversee and manage the end-to-end processing and beneficiation operations of the coal washery plant. Ensure optimal raw coal washing efficiency to achieve targeted ash and moisture reduction parameters while maximizing yield and maintaining strict compliance with safety, cost, and environmental regulations.

Role & responsibilities

• Production Management: Direct daily operations of washing circuits, heavy media cyclones, and dewatering screens to hit shift targets.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor feed coal quality and control washed coal parameters (ash percentage, moisture, and calorific value) to meet strict client specifications.
• Yield Optimization: Analyze processing data regularly to minimize carbon loss in rejects and maximize clean coal recovery.
• Maintenance Coordination: Work with the engineering team to schedule preventive maintenance, minimizing downtime on crushers, conveyors, and screens.
• EHS Compliance: Maintain zero-harm operations by enforcing safety standards, managing slurry disposal, and monitoring water recycling systems.
• Reporting: Compile daily, weekly, and monthly operational metrics, material balances, and chemical consumption logs for executive review.

Functional Competencies

Deep technical knowledge of gravity separation, heavy media cyclone systems, Proficiency in handling Coal Handling Plants (CHP), material stacking, blending, and Strong grip on coal sampling norms, laboratory analysis techniques, and yield calculation models.

Behavioral & Management Competencies:

• Operational Leadership: Proven ability to supervise field crews, control multi-shift operations, and drive field accountability.
• Problem Solving: Quick troubleshooting of mechanical blockages, circuit imbalances, or immediate quality deviations.
• Resource Optimization: Sharp focus on lowering per-ton processing costs, power consumption, and chemical overheads.
• Collaboration: Seamless coordination across mining crews, laboratory staff, maintenance teams, and logistics personnel.

Preferred candidate profile

B.Tech in Mineral Processing / Mechanical / Electrical qualified with 10-15 years of core operational experience in heavy media cyclonic or jig-based coal washery plants.
