OpenText xECM Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an OpenText xECM Consultant based in India.

Are you an experienced enterprise content management professional passionate about digital transformation and intelligent content automation? In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize OpenText Extended ECM (xECM) solutions that help global organizations streamline document management, strengthen compliance, and improve operational efficiency. You will work across enterprise systems, integrating content services with platforms such as SAP, SharePoint, and Salesforce to create seamless business workflows. By translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions, you will contribute directly to better information governance and measurable business outcomes. The position offers exposure to diverse enterprise environments, modern cloud technologies, and challenging integration projects. Accountabilities: Solution Design and Implementation: Design, configure, and deploy OpenText xECM solutions tailored to enterprise document management, records retention, compliance, and content governance requirements.

Enterprise System Integration: Integrate OpenText xECM with SAP, SharePoint, Salesforce, and other business applications to enable seamless information exchange and end-to-end content lifecycle management.

Workflow Automation and Customization: Configure metadata schemas, workflow rules, security policies, and document management processes using OpenText APIs, scripting tools, and relevant integration technologies.

Client Consultation and Requirements Gathering: Lead workshops with stakeholders to understand business needs, analyze existing processes, identify improvement opportunities, and define effective content governance frameworks.

System Administration and Optimization: Manage and maintain xECM environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructures, performing performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ongoing system optimization.

Compliance and Information Governance: Implement document governance and records management practices that support organizational policies, retention requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

Training and Knowledge Transfer: Develop technical documentation, deliver user training, and support knowledge transfer to promote adoption and ensure long-term solution sustainability.

Post-Implementation Support: Provide post-go-live assistance, resolve technical issues, and continuously improve deployed solutions to maintain reliability and performance.

Requirements:

Professional Experience: 4–9 years of relevant professional experience in enterprise content management, OpenText consulting, implementation, or related technology roles.

OpenText xECM Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with OpenText xECM, including solution configuration, implementation, customization, and administration.

Enterprise Integration Skills: Proven ability to integrate enterprise content management solutions with SAP and SharePoint, with experience in Salesforce or other enterprise platforms considered valuable.

Content Services and Records Management: Solid understanding of enterprise content services, document lifecycle management, records retention, document governance, and compliance requirements.

Workflow Automation: Experience designing and configuring automated workflows, metadata structures, access controls, and business process rules.

API and Technical Integration: Familiarity with OpenText APIs, scripting, and integration techniques required to customize solutions and connect enterprise applications.

Cloud Technologies: Knowledge of OpenText Cloud and cloud-based enterprise architecture is an advantage.

Automation Tools: Familiarity with Microsoft Power Automate or comparable workflow automation technologies is desirable.

Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of GDPR, ISO 15489, or other relevant information governance and records management standards is beneficial.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, optimize system performance, and translate business challenges into practical technical solutions.

Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication, stakeholder management, documentation, and presentation skills, with the ability to lead client workshops and work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Continuous Learning: A proactive approach to professional development, with an interest in OpenText certifications, cloud architecture, and emerging enterprise content management technologies.
