• Install, configure, administer, maintain, and upgrade PostgreSQL databases.
• Manage database creation, schemas, users, roles, tablespaces, and access privileges.
• Monitor PostgreSQL database health, availability, capacity, storage, connections, logs, and performance.
• Perform SQL and database performance tuning using EXPLAIN, EXPLAIN ANALYZE, pg_stat_statements, and related diagnostic utilities.
• Identify and resolve slow queries, locking, blocking sessions, deadlocks, high CPU/memory utilization, and I/O bottlenecks.
• Perform VACUUM, ANALYZE, autovacuum tuning, index maintenance, and database housekeeping.
• Configure and troubleshoot streaming replication and logical replication.
• Implement and maintain High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions.
• Perform database backup, restore, and Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR).
• Work with PostgreSQL utilities such as:
• pg_dump / pg_restore
• pg_basebackup
• pgBackRest / Barman
• PgBouncer
• Patroni / repmgr
• Perform major and minor PostgreSQL version upgrades with minimal downtime.
• Participate in database migrations across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Automate recurring DBA activities using Shell/Bash and Python scripting.
• Provide production support and troubleshoot critical P1/P2 incidents.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for database incidents and recurring problems.
• Participate in DR drills, capacity planning, database health checks, patching, and change activities.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, cloud, and development teams
