About the Role
We are hiring an Online Accounting Manager to own the complete accounting function for a US-based, multi-location behavioral health organization operating two related entities. You will run the monthly close, maintain accrual-basis books, and produce the location and
service-line reporting leadership uses to make decisions. This is a build role as much as an operating one: the budget, variance reporting, protability reporting, and 13-week cash forecast do not yet exist in recurring form, and standing them up is a rst-year requirement.
You will report to the CEO and supervise one bookkeeper.

Working hours -Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST (9:30 PM to 6:30 AM IST)
Reports- to Chief Executive Ocer (client)
Team- Supervises 1 bookkeeper
Support- External tax and audit rm; outside accounting advisory rm during the current system rebuild

What You'll Do
Own the monthly close for both entities on a published calendar (by business day 15 for the rst two quarters, then by day 10), reconciling every balance sheet account, not just cash.
Deliver a monthly nancial package to the CEO with comparative statements, a written summary of what changed and why, and an exception log of unresolved items with owners.
Maintain accrual-basis books following the cash-to-accrual conversion: accrued payroll and expenses, prepaids, payees on every transaction, and review of automated posting rules.
Run cost allocation and protability reporting by location and service line(residential, PHP, IOP, outpatient, specialty), with a documented allocation method reviewed semi-annually.
Put the 13-week cash forecast into weekly production, completing the advisory rm's draft model, distributing it every Monday, modelling scenarios, and scoring it against actuals.
Handle multi-entity and grant accounting: monthly intercompany tie-outs, fund accounting for restricted grants, and grant nancial reporting, including federal awards.
Account for payroll, debt, and xed assets: benet contributions against the right liabilities, principal/interest splits on every debt payment, a xed asset register with scheduled depreciation, and card-level credit card reconciliation.
Build the budget and management reporting: an annual operating budget by location and service line, monthly budget-to-actual variance reporting, and departmental and vendor spend reporting, taking this work over from the CEO.
Supervise and develop the bookkeeper through technical review and a training plan with milestones, building them toward independent ownership of day-to-day transactions.
Maintain internal controls: segregation of duties, documented procedures, verication against primary source documents, and written escalation of control gaps, cash shortfalls, or misstatements the day they are found.

All work is reviewed continuously by the client's AI analytics layer and by the CEO. You will be expected to run your own work through that review before submitting it, resolve ndings with evidence, and x recurring issues at the process level.

How success is measured: the close lands on the published date without material correction; the budget, variance reporting, and location/service-line P&L run as standing monthly
products; the cash forecast is current every Monday; intercompany balances tie out monthly; grant reports are led on time; the bookkeeper works independently; and the CEO no longer
produces nancial analysis.

What We're Looking For
Must have
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related eld, or equivalent demonstrated accounting capability.
Demonstrated ownership of a full monthly close, including balance sheet reconciliations, in a multi-entity or multi-location business.
Strong command of US accrual-basis accounting and the judgment to decide treatment when documentation is incomplete.
Experience allocating shared and personnel costs across locations, departments, or service lines, and producing segment-level P&Ls.
Experience keeping books for more than one legal entity, including intercompany reconciliation.
Experience supervising, training, or reviewing the work of accounting or bookkeeping sta.
Fluency in cloud accounting platforms (for example QuickBooks Online, Xero or NetSuite), including class, location and dimensional tracking, enough to judge whether a setup is congured correctly.
Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including building a multi-variable cash forecast model.
Excellent written and spoken English: able to explain numbers to non-accountants,defend a position with documentation, and escalate problems clearly in writing.
A track record of working remotely across time zones without daily supervision.

Preferred
Fund accounting for restricted grants and grant nancial reporting, including US federal awards.

Experience in US healthcare, especially behavioral health or multi-site clinical providers.
Prior experience building a budget, variance reporting, or a 13-week cash forecast from scratch.
CPA, CA, ACCA, or CMA. A credential is welcome but does not replace hands-on close ownership.
Job Prerequisites
Availability Monday to Friday, 9:30 PM to 6:30 AM IST, with same-day responses during working hours and availability on close dates regardless of local holidays.
Extended hours during month-end close, annual budgeting, and year-end.
A dedicated, private, and secure workspace, since the role handles condential nancial records linked to patient billing.
A reliable laptop, high-speed internet, and power backup sucient for uninterrupted video calls.
Willingness to sign condentiality and business associate agreements covering HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, use only approved devices, and never share credentials or delegate work.
Ability to clear a background check.
