Job Summary

The Officer - Finance at Godrej Industries Limited (Chemicals) plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions, supporting both purchase and non-purchase order-based invoice processing. The position is responsible for supplier ledger scrutiny, balance confirmation, and maintaining control over prepaid expenses and related automated processes. The role also involves preparing expense and vendor schedules, responding to internal and external requests, and assisting with month-end closing and tax compliance.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for accurate and timely processing and posting of both purchase order based and non-purchase order based invoices.
• Take ownership of supplier ledger scrutiny, balance confirmation, reclassification, clearing, and ageing.
• Responsible for GRIR and payable GL monitoring and control.
• Maintain control of advances paid, prepaid expenses, and relevant automated processes for prepaid expenses.
• Deliver high-quality schedule preparation of ledgers relating to expenses and vendors.
• Responsible for proper and timely response to all vendors and internal customer requests and inquiries.
• Assist in month end closing and preparations.
• Help drive innovation in providing income tax assessment data for all relevant items following under the AP & expense GL scope with the indirect tax team.
• Assist the indirect tax team with GST reconciliation related follow-up and credit claim process.

Education

• A BMS (Finance) or B.Com degree is required.

Experience

• Experience of 2-4 years in a relevant role is required.

Skills

• Good knowledge of Excel and SAP is essential.
