Description

We are currently looking to add a Occupational Therapist (OT) to our team who will be part of our CBR center in Ramanagara.

This role focuses on decentralized care, so the therapist will spend time in both a clinical setup and also provide services at the community level (homes, local schools, and primary health centers (PHCs)). The primary goal is to empower families the local community to sustain the rehabilitation process.

Responsibilities

• Assessment: Conduct functional assessments of movement, strength, and balance in thechild's/adult's natural environment.
• Intervention: Design home-based exercise programs. Provide gait training and posture correction.
• Assistive Technology: Identify the need for calipers, crutches, or wheelchairs; facilitate procurementthrough government schemes (like ADIP) or local NGOs.
• Community Role: Train parents and local health workers (ASHAs) in basic positioning and stretchingtechniques to prevent contractures.

Ideal Candidate

• Language: Proficiency in Kannada is essential for effective communication with the local community.
• Registration: Must have valid registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) or the respectiveeducational background.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel to various "Hoblis" (villages) and conduct field visits.

Good-to-have Skills

• Having prior experience of working with the grassroot community
• Having prior experience of working for an NGO;
