Nursing Incharge

Role & responsibilities

• Supervise and guide staff nurses and other nursing personnel.
• Ensure proper patient care, monitoring, and timely implementation of doctors' orders.
• Prepare duty rosters and manage staff allocation according to patient requirements.
• Monitor medication administration, documentation, and nursing records.
• Ensure proper shift handover and takeover.
• Maintain infection control, hygiene, and patient safety standards.
• Monitor the availability of nursing supplies, equipment, and emergency items.
• Handle patient and attendant concerns and coordinate with doctors and other departments.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing protocols, and NABH standards.
• Conduct staff training, orientation, and performance monitoring.
• Report incidents, medication errors, and other concerns to the appropriate authority.
• Maintain accurate records and submit reports to the Nursing Superintendent or management.
• Ensure discipline, punctuality, and professional conduct among nursing staff.

Preferred candidate profile- Nurse Incharge

GNM or B.Sc. Nursing with valid State Nursing Council registration.

• Minimum 23 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably with supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership and staff management skills.
• Good knowledge of patient care, medication administration, infection control, and nursing documentation.
• Familiarity with NABH standards and hospital protocols.
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage staff duty rosters, patient care activities, and emergency situations.
• Patient-focused, disciplined, responsible, and capable of working in shifts.
