NPD Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Verify and prepare product cost estimates from customer drawings and specifications.
• Create and maintain detailed Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Support commercialization activities by coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Conduct product and process feasibility studies.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
• Work closely with Design, Production, Quality, and Procurement teams during NPD stages.
• Interact with customers to understand technical requirements and provide engineering solutions.
• Support RFQ analysis, quotation preparation, and technical discussions.
• Ensure smooth transition of new products from development to production.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong understanding of Sheet Metal Fabrication and Manufacturing Processes.
• Expertise in BOM preparation and Product Costing.
• Knowledge of NPD (New Product Development) methodologies.
• Experience in Process Optimization and Cost Reduction Projects.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks/CATIA or equivalent design software.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Good understanding of manufacturing feasibility and commercial aspects.
