NPD Costing

Job Description:

Role: NPD & Costing (CFC)

Preferred Industry: Home Electricals, Large Appliances, Switchgear, Automobile

Desired Experience: 10 Years

1. Lead New Product Development (NPD) activities from Concept to Start of Production (SOP), including supplier identification, part development and validation.
2. Own NPD Gantt Charts and MIS to ensure adherence to launch timelines. Raise red flags in case of any delays or bottlenecks.
3. Managing supplies for all new products during the first 3 months of launch, creating and executing capacity ramp-up plans.
4. Support Supplier Development & Localization Roadmaps aligned with long-term sourcing and cost optimization strategy.
5. Drive Localization Projects to achieve cost competitiveness, ensure supply chain resilience, and reduce import dependency.
6. Conduct detailed Should-Cost Analysis using Zero-Based Costing (ZBC) and Man/Machine-Hour Rate (MHR) methods for cost estimation and validation.
7. Assess supplier manufacturing feasibility and support VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) initiatives to optimize product design and cost.
8. Coordinate Tooling Development and monitor progress to meet project timelines and quality expectations.
9. Possess strong Commodity Knowledge in Plastic Components, Non-Ferrous Castings, and Sheet Metal Parts, including process understanding and cost drivers.
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Design, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure smooth NPD execution and timely SOP readiness.
11. Drive efficiencies by ensuring SOP adherence, improving SOPs, closing audit observations and supplier agreements.
12. Drive or participate in special projects, as and when assigned.
