New Product Development (NPD)

A Product Manager for Wiring Accessories & Modular switches spearheads the end-to-end product lifecyclefrom initial concept to market launch. This role demands strong expertise in New Product Development (NPD), supplier sourcing, margin optimization, and deep knowledge of electrical industry standards.

Responsibilities

• New Product Development (NPD): Drive the ideation, design, and prototyping of modular switch plates, sockets, wiring accessories, and enclosures.
• Global & Local Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and raw material suppliers (e.g., for engineering plastics like Polycarbonate, brass/copper contacts) to ensure optimal cost, quality, and supply continuity.
• Market & Competitor Analysis: Study consumer trends, competitor features (e.g., anti-microbial coatings, sleek designs), and pricing strategies to maintain market competitiveness.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are manufacturer (DFM), cost-effective, and aligned with electrical safety compliance
• Profitability & Pricing: Develop business cases, set competitive pricing, and manage the financial viability and profitability of the product line.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 12 + years in product management, strategic sourcing, or NPD within the electrical, consumer electronics, or wiring accessories and Modular industry.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) is typically required.
• Technical Acumen: Ability to read technical drawings, understand plastic injection molding, and navigate complex bills of materials (BOM).
• Supplier Network: Established relationships with electronic and electrical component suppliers across India or in manufacturing hubs
