Network Security Engineer

Hiring: Network Security Engineer (IDS Operations) Pune (Hybrid – 2–3 days/week preferred) | Remote candidates will also be considered 12+ months contract role

Network Security Engineer with strong expertise in

IDS/IPS operations, network security, and threat detection . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience tuning IDS signatures, managing enterprise firewalls, analyzing network traffic, and supporting Security Operations.

Required Skills:

• IDS/IPS (Snort, Suricata, Cisco Secure IPS or similar)
• Palo Alto, FortiGate, Cisco ASA Firewalls
• Firewall rule provisioning and troubleshooting
• Wireshark / PCAP analysis
• Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel
• TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, DNS, DHCP
• Threat Hunting, Incident Response, IOC analysis
• Linux/Windows administration
• Basic Python, Bash, or PowerShell (preferred)

Key Responsibilities:

• Tune IDS signatures to reduce false positives and improve detection.
• Monitor and investigate network security alerts.
• Analyze packet captures and suspicious network activity.
• Troubleshoot firewall, VPN, and network security issues.
• Collaborate with SOC, Incident Response, and Threat Intelligence teams.
