About The Role World Wide Technology Holding Co, LLC. (WWT) currently has an exciting opportunity available for the role of Sr Network Engineer. This is a contract role managed through our global payroll partner, with a duration of a minimum of 12 months. The position is remote, offering flexibility and the chance to work on a high-priority enterprise project involving organizational restructuring. The primary focus of this role is to support a critical network separation process for a large enterprise client. You will be responsible for executing network build and migration activities, ensuring seamless connectivity, and maintaining the integrity of the infrastructure during the transition. This role requires a mid-level professional with extensive experience in Cisco networking technologies, capable of handling complex deployment and operational tasks during a significant company divestiture or restructuring process.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess at least 8+ years of dedicated experience working with Cisco technologies in large-scale enterprise environments. A CCNP certification (or equivalent) in Enterprise Routing & Switching is mandatory, demonstrating strong technical proficiency. Candidates should have deep knowledge of OSPF and BGP protocols, with hands-on experience configuring and maintaining these in complex network architectures. Extensive experience working with Cisco IOS XE platforms and Cisco SD-WAN solutions is essential. Proficiency in network monitoring tools such as ThousandEyes and SolarWinds is required for effective troubleshooting and performance optimization. Proven experience supporting large-scale network migrations, corporate divestitures, or similar projects is highly desirable. Additional skills such as IP Address Management (IPAM), basic firewall and security transition knowledge, circuit provisioning coordination, and documentation expertise will be advantageous for supporting deployment activities.
Responsibilities
- Execute network separation tasks, focusing on Cisco-centric environments, ensuring minimal service disruption.
- Configure and maintain routing protocols including OSPF and BGP across enterprise-scale networks to ensure reliable connectivity during the transition.
- Deploy and manage Cisco SD-WAN solutions in conjunction with campus switching environments, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
- Perform hands-on hardware management with Cisco IOS XE platforms, including configuration, troubleshooting, and deployment of network devices.
- Utilize monitoring tools such as ThousandEyes and SolarWinds to oversee network health, troubleshoot latency issues, and optimize performance during the migration process.
- Support operational activities by balancing new build requirements with ongoing operational support to ensure zero downtime during the organizational split.
- Travel to physical sites as needed to oversee hardware deployment, conduct site surveys, and facilitate local cutovers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure clarity of network changes and adherence to project timelines.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and as-is/to-be states using Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools.
