Job Description: Network/SOC Engineer (L1)

Position: Network/SOC Engineer L1
Location: Delhi NCR
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically competent Network/SOC Engineer L1 to support and monitor enterprise network infrastructure and security operations. The role involves monitoring network devices, responding to alerts, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring the availability and security of IT infrastructure within a Data Centre and LAN environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network infrastructure, security devices, and SOC dashboards on a 24x7 basis.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting for network and security incidents.
• Monitor and manage LAN, WAN, and Data Centre network environments.
• Handle access and distribution layer switches, routers, and related network devices.
• Investigate alerts, events, and incidents generated through monitoring tools.
• Escalate critical incidents to higher support teams as per defined procedures.
• Assist in configuration validation, network health checks, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Maintain incident tickets, logs, and operational documentation.
• Ensure adherence to IT security policies, processes, and SLAs.
• Support SDN/SDA-based network environments and assist in routine operational activities.
• Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders for issue resolution and service continuity.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications from a recognized University/Board:

• B.E./B.Tech (Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering)
• M.Sc. (IT/Computer Science)
• MCA
• B.Sc. (IT/Computer Science)
• BCA
• 3-Year Diploma in CS/IT/ECE

Experience Requirements

For B.E./B.Tech (CS/IT/ECE) or M.Sc. (IT/CS) or MCA

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in:
• LAN Networking
• Data Centre Networking
• Handling Access and Distribution Switches
• Routing and Switching Environment
• SDN/SDA Environment
• SOC Operations

For B.Sc. (IT/CS), BCA, or 3-Year Diploma (CS/IT/ECE)

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in:
• LAN Networking
• Data Centre Networking
• Handling Access and Distribution Switches
• Routing and Switching Environment
• SDN/SDA Environment
• SOC Operations

Required Technical Skills

• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and Routing Protocols.
• Knowledge of Switches, Routers, Firewalls, and Network Security concepts.
• Experience in LAN and Data Centre Operations.
• Exposure to Network Monitoring and Incident Management tools.
• Basic understanding of SOC processes and security event monitoring.
• Familiarity with SDN/SDA environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Good communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, or equivalent networking technologies.
• Understanding of SIEM tools and security monitoring platforms.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and ticketing systems.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
