Job Description:

The role requires technical ownership experience of the systems and interfaces that power our data platform from database design and back-end APIs through to the dashboards and tools our internal users rely on every day. The individual will need to set the standard for engineering quality on the team, guide architectural decisions, and mentor engineers around you, while remaining hands-on across the full stack.

• Front-end expertise: Proven experience building complex, production-grade front-end applications using modern frameworks (e.g. Vue, React, Blazor, or similar). Deep understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and browser performance.
• Back-end proficiency: Solid experience designing and building RESTful or event-driven APIs, preferably in C#/.NET. Comfortable working across services and distributed system patterns.
• Database skills: Confident working with relational databases particularly PostgreSQL including schema design, query optimisation, indexing, and managing migrations in production environments.
• Testing discipline: Strong commitment to and practical experience with testing at all levels — unit, integration, and end-to-end — and the ability to instill good testing practices across a team.
• Full-stack ownership: Demonstrated ability to take a feature from requirements to production across the full stack, making sound trade-offs along the way..
• Technical leadership: Experience guiding technical direction, conducting meaningful code reviews, and raising the bar for engineering quality in a team environment.
• Communication: Able to explain technical decisions clearly to both engineering peers and non technical stakeholders.
• Problem-solving at scale: Experience working on data-intensive or high-volume systems and understanding the constraints that come with them.
• A DevOps mindset with experience monitoring, operating, and supporting systems in production. Comfortable with observability tooling, incident response, and treating operational health as part of the engineering role.
