Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced MySQL Developer with strong expertise in database development, complex SQL queries, stored procedures, query optimization, and performance tuning. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with MySQL/Amazon Aurora, database migrations, and system-level database activities, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and database objects.
- Work with MySQL and Amazon Aurora databases to support application and business requirements.
- Analyze and optimize query performance using EXPLAIN plans, indexing strategies, and execution analysis.
- Perform database performance tuning, troubleshoot slow queries, and resolve database bottlenecks.
- Design and maintain efficient database schemas, indexes, and data access patterns.
- Execute data migrations, database upgrades, schema changes, and data validation activities from different databases.
- Handle system-level database activities, including configuration, resource utilization, connection management, and troubleshooting.
- Support database administration activities, including user access, permissions, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, availability, and reliability across database environments.
- Collaborate with application developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to improve database performance and reliability.
- Document database designs, optimization techniques, migration procedures, and operational processes.
Must-Have Skills
- 5+ years of experience in MySQL database development.
- Strong hands-on experience with MySQL and/or Amazon Aurora.
- Expertise in complex SQL queries, joins, subqueries, CTEs, and query design.
- Strong experience developing and maintaining stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Proficiency in query optimization, execution plan analysis using EXPLAIN, and indexing strategies.
- Hands-on experience in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Experience with data migrations, schema changes, and data validation.
- Understanding of database administration and system-level database operations.
- Strong knowledge of relational database concepts, transactions, locking, and concurrency.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience working with JSON data types and JSON-based queries in MySQL.
- Database automation and scripting for routine maintenance and operational tasks.
- Experience with database monitoring, performance metrics, and alerting.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies.
- Experience handling large-scale databases and high-volume transactional workloads.
