About the Role We are seeking an experienced
Integration Developer with strong hands-on expertise in both
MuleSoft and
AWS . In addition to building and maintaining enterprise integrations, this role will play a key part in assessing and
rearchitecting existing MuleSoft services for AWS-native integration services . The ideal candidate understands both platforms deeply enough to evaluate trade-offs, design target-state architectures, and execute migrations with minimal disruption to the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations and APIs using
MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Mule 4, DataWeave, API Manager, Runtime Manager, CloudHub).
- Rearchitect and migrate MuleSoft services to AWS-native solutions using services such as API Gateway, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, AppFlow, and ECS/EKS.
- Assess existing Mule applications, document current-state integration patterns, and design target-state AWS architectures with clear migration roadmaps.
- Build event-driven and API-led integrations connecting Salesforce, ERPs, databases, and third-party SaaS systems.
- Develop transformation logic (DataWeave to Python/Node.js or equivalent) and ensure functional parity during migration through thorough testing and validation.
- Implement security best practices across both platforms: OAuth 2.0, API policies, IAM roles/policies, secrets management, and encryption in transit/at rest.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines for integration deployments (e.g., GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, Maven for Mule) and infrastructure as code (CloudFormation or Terraform).
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integrations for performance, reliability, and cost — including decommissioning legacy Mule assets post-migration.
- Document integration designs, runbooks, and migration decisions; collaborate with architects, DevOps, and business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on MuleSoft experience with completed, verifiable projects — Mule 4 development, DataWeave transformations, API-led connectivity, and Anypoint Platform administration.
- Hands-on AWS experience building integration or serverless solutions with API Gateway, Lambda, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, or Step Functions.
- Demonstrated experience with
replatforming or migrating integration workloads (MuleSoft-to-AWS migration experience strongly preferred; candidates should be able to walk through a migration they contributed to).
- 5+ years of integration development experience with REST/SOAP APIs, messaging, and event-driven architectures.
- Proficiency in at least one general-purpose language used on AWS (Python, Node.js/TypeScript, or Java).
- Experience with CI/CD, Git, and infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Strong understanding of API security, error handling, retry/idempotency patterns, and observability (CloudWatch, Anypoint Monitoring).
- Strong communication skills — able to explain migration trade-offs, risks, and costs to technical and business audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- MuleSoft Certified Developer (Level 1 or 2) and/or
AWS certifications (Developer Associate, Solutions Architect Associate, or higher).
- Experience with containerized integration workloads (ECS, EKS, Fargate).
- Familiarity with Salesforce integration patterns (Platform Events, Bulk/REST APIs).
- Exposure to data streaming (Kinesis, Kafka/MSK).
