Role Summary:
Lead mould engineering activities for composite manufacturing. Develop, validate, and support mould tooling solutions, ensuring technical compliance, manufacturability, and lifecycle reliability.
What Youll Do:
- Develop mould concepts, specifications, and technical requirement specifications (TRS).
- Design and review mould structures, skins, frames, vacuum systems, heating systems, and accessories.
- Convert product geometry into manufacturable mould designs using CAD tools.
- Review supplier designs, calculations, DFMEA, and technical documentation.
- Create and review 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs.
- Work with CAD platforms (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent).
- Support digitalization, modelling, geometry validation, and dimensional verification.
- Develop and optimize mould heating and cooling systems; perform heat mapping and thermal analysis.
- Analyze temperature distribution, sensor performance, and thermal control systems.
- Provide expertise in composite tooling materials and manufacturing processes.
- Evaluate laminate structures, gelcoat systems, resin compatibility, and mould durability.
- Design and review hydraulic, vacuum, lifting, lowering, and mould turner systems.
- Support mechanical system integration and operational performance.
- Lead and support FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).
- Support installation, commissioning, ramp-up, and hypercare activities.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing sites and suppliers.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for mould performance issues.
