Mongo Database Administrator (Remote)

Role & responsibilities

• Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB and MySQL administration in production environments.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, Cassandra, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Expertise in database installation, configuration, monitoring, backup, recovery, replication, and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of SQL/NoSQL architectures and database frameworks.
• Good knowledge of Linux administration and networking.
• Automation and scripting experience using Python, Shell, or Perl.
• Experience supporting highly available database clusters and troubleshooting production issues.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, implement, administer, monitor, secure, and optimize MongoDB, MariaDB, and MySQL environments.
• Collaborate with Development and SRE teams to support data storage and reporting platforms.
• Manage database performance, scalability, availability, and reliability.
• Drive automation initiatives using Python and Shell scripting.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation and handle critical production incidents.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience with Elasticsearch and Redis.
• Exposure to Big Data and distributed database environments.

Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical education/work experience.
